Fellow readers, I have finally realized that reading two mangas and watching one anime movie per week isn't an easy way to maintain a blog. Especially when I don't want to get too obsessed with Japanese cartoons. If you want to comment against changing this blog into something TOTALLY different, well........ please do comment.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

Miyazaki along with his fellow co-workers spent a lot of time working on the popular and beloved "Ponyo", as it took 3 years to finish it. The movie is composed of 170,000 seperate hand-drawn and hand-colored images. Sōsuke, a 5 year-old boy falls in love with a goldfish who has longing to become human. As a result of licking human blood, Ponyo magically fulfills her desire of being a child while falling in love with the little schoolboy. The girl's enigmatic father thinks the world will be out of balance for the two youngsters to love each other. In response, her mother, the godess of the sea, wishes that her child lives in human form along with Sōsuke.
